Tip Does Not Turn Auth To Sale - Creates Force

This article is a part of the  Payment Processing Software / Credit Card Software Knowledge Base.

Q. This may happen on text-based ICVerify type installations. Whever a tip is entered, instead of turning Auth to Sale, it creates an extra Force.

A. Try uncommenting (removing leading ;) the following setting under FILE BASED (ICVERIFY) PROTOCOL SETTINGS in the [911_ccv] section of the 911\data\911_ccv.ini file:

TryForceAsFinalize=YES

Add the setting manually under [911_ccv] section, if not present.

Example:

;If a force transaction is sent and a matching transaction is found in the journal, then it is changed to an 'add tip' transaction.
;Default: NO
TryForceAsFinalize=YES
